Christmas With Purpose, Step 1

Updated: Nov 1, 2020

Santa makes a list and checks it twice, so we should as well. I realize that making a list seems rudimentary, but it works. Studies have proven that writing goals and making to-do lists are pivotal in accomplishing those goals or tasks. Here are a few things that list-making can do to improve your holiday outlook:

1. Reduce Anxiety: we all have a million things to do, and it all rattles around in our heads. Writing down either on paper or on a smartphone app gets those thoughts out of our heads and reduces stress.

2. Improve Focus: A list keeps those goals and tasks in front of us, helping us focus on them. We become more intentional and find ourselves moving with purpose and not feeling like we are blowing in the wind.

3. Increase Self Esteem: Once things are being checked or crossed off our lists, a sense of accomplishment and pride will swell up. Our self-esteem will boost, which helps to keep us motivated and productive.

Whether it’s for shopping, prepping the house for the holidays, or personal goals for this Christmas, make a list and be intentional. Please create a list of the things you need and want to experience this Christmas, prioritize it, wait a day, then look at it again, and you’ll have a great start on Christmas with purpose.
